iLAB is a global software quality testing company with offices in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. When we first sat down with their executive leadership team, it became very clear to us that software quality testing isn’t just a nice thing for some developers to outsource; it’s an absolutely critical part of today’s world. In a very real sense, almost every major corporation today is a technology company. Banks handle money, yes, but they do so by managing numbers in spreadsheets. That’s an oversimplification, but just think about everything that could go wrong with a bank’s tech, from the software driving the billions of transactions happening around the world every day, to the operating systems controlling ATMs, to the mobile banking apps so many of us rely on as a matter of course in our daily lives. One small problem could result in disaster not just for the bank’s customers, but for investors and markets the world over. Especially as more and more companies move their technology services to the cloud, software has become an iterative thing, constantly evolving and changing a little bit at a time through agile development processes.

Enter iLAB, whose expert software engineers and testers help their clients to make sure that every update is thoroughly tested, broken, fixed, and made to work exactly as intended by the time the new code goes live. Work teams across the planet work with government entities, financial institutions, healthcare companies, telecom companies, and more to make sure that major problems are spotted before they affect users—and the company’s bottom line. Of course, no testing company can promise that problems won’t happen, but they can give executives and IT experts alike the peace of mind that someone is working hard to test these systems we all depend on.

This message is one that impacts anybody who uses technology, and it’s one with many facets of relative importance depending on who iLAB happens to be talking to at any given time. For that reason, Metonymy Media was enlisted to help iLAB’s amazingly smart (and, we might add, very fun) marketing, sales, and leadership teams build messaging standards for every audience. Through our voice and messaging workshop, we helped iLAB cut to the core of their message and think about what’s most important to three key audiences: executives, who don’t necessarily need to understand their tech but certainly know its importance; managers, who know how important it is to work with a software quality testing company with a proven process; and IT employees, who are most interested in a potential testing partner’s technical know-how.

Since our initial workshop, iLAB has trusted us with virtually every aspect of their messaging and content marketing needs. We’ve built them a content strategy that targets each of their key audiences with content specifically relevant to their needs, we’ve rewritten their web copy to match with new messaging, and we’re in an ongoing relationship to help them produce content both for their external marketing and also for their internal communications, which is a critical part of making their global, 600+ member staff feel like one cohesive team sharing one vision and one culture of excellence.

The enthusiasm and passion of every member of the iLAB team shines in every meeting and every interaction we have with them. We couldn’t ask for better clients, who are always generous with their time, their expertise, their faith in us, and their impulse to order one more round.
